Meriel is a widely respected design strategist and experienced entrepreneur who is particularly interested in applying customer centered and design thinking to business and social challenges. Much of this is centered around digital transformation, across marketing and service delivery.
After spells in the 1990's working at the BBC and Microsoft, she founded Flow Interactive, one of the first experience design consultancies in London. She has consulted to a wide variety of global corporates, public sector organisations, and startups across most sectors. She grew her business to become the UK's largest, and globally highly respected, before selling it in 2011.
She continues to provide consultancy as a partner at Foolproof in London, and is also NED at various companies across energy, telecommunications, e-gaming and finance. In addition to being a Startup Guernsey NED, she also sits on the Chamber of Commerce ICT subcommittee, is external examiner on a Design BSc at Dundee University, and runs a social enterprise encouraging peer to peer lending.
As the mother of two, she's well aware of the challenges of mixing parenting and career.
